It seems that for the past several weeks, almost every hot, viral beauty trend has been born not out of the ashes, but out of the desert. Whether it’s “Mayhem” inspired makeup trends from Coachella or breezy, western hair waves à la Stagecoach this past weekend, the desert festival scene has become beauty’s biggest stage, too. Most recently, resident sad-girl music queen Lana Del Rey brought even more super sweet hair inspiration to the Stagecoach stage, debuting what her stylist deemed “brown sugar” brunette.

How to Recreate Lana Del Rey’s Brown Sugar Bronde Hair

Lana Del Rey is the go-to inspiration for all things dainty yet dark, and her brown sugar hair is no exception. For the singer’s return to the stage at Stagecoach Festival this weekend, celebrity hairstylist and Schwarzkopf Professional’s U.S. Creative Director of Color and Technique, Tracey Cunningham, gave Del Rey’s signature bronde style new life.

Using the brand’s Igora Vibrance ($12), Cunningham refined the singer’s brunette color by seamlessly pulling lighter strands through the ends to “add natural warmth and softness.” The dimensional color looks stunning on the “Henry, Come On” singer. Cunningham predicts that brown sugar will be this summer’s “it” hue for many reasons, citing how the “dreamy lived-in brown with lighter hues pulled through the ends mimics the beautiful desert landscape,” making it “the perfect low-maintenance summer shade.”
