If we had to pick one haircut that celebrities just can’t seem to get enough of, the bob takes first place, and it’s not just A-listers that keep swarming to the style. From the Italian bob to the ’90s bob cut, the Baroque bob and more, there are endless options for trying your hand at the cropped cut. If you need more inspiration to make the plunge, Kim Kardashian just chopped off seven inches of her signature mane for this designer bob look.

Kim Kardashian Cuts Half a Foot of Hair Off for Designer Bob Debut

Kardashian’s hairstyles can feel like they change like the weather—one day she’s a platinum blonde with waist-skimming strands, the next she’s back to black with a side bang and feathery layers and the next she’s rocking a pink shag. But, of all her styles, this most recent one might be our favorite. Debuted at a charity event to raise money for those affected by the Altadena fires and empower Black entrepreneurs, Kardashian showed off her new chin-length bob cut with a deep side part, and we can’t get enough.

Crafted and styled to perfection—flippy ends and all—by Kardashian’s right-hand hairstylist, Chris Appleton, the celebrity hair expert revealed on Instagram yesterday that Kardashian’s new bob cut required a shed of seven inches of her luscious strands. “We got 7 inches off her hair,” he affirmed in the caption before clarifying for the skeptics, “No, it’s not a wig before you start lol.” In terms of styling, Appleton opted for a dramatic side part inspired by Tom Ford’s era of Gucci circa 1996, making for the ultimate designer bob look.
