We couldn’t take our eyes off fresh-faced Glenn Close last week at the 11th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards Gala. We had to wonder how she did it. Was it great makeup? Some aesthetic help? We turned to the experts to find out.
“She possibly had a minimal eyelid tuck, but she has some asymmetry in both photos,” said Newport Beach, CA, plastic surgeon Sanjay Grover, MD. “The nice thing about her appearance is her full smile. Honestly, I do not feel she has had much done, perhaps good makeup.”
To learn these makeup tricks, we turned to celebrity makeup artist Amy Hollier, who counts Julie Roberts and Molly Sims among her clientele. “Her makeup is fresh, pretty and natural, the way any woman would want to look on a good day,” she says. “I find when you accentuate lashes, skin and lips in a balanced way like this, you notice the person before you notice their makeup.”
Her hairstyle and skin tone play important roles, as well, Hollier says. “I think Glenn Close looks 10 years younger with longer hair! Also a light tan gives her a healthy radiance. Her new look gives her sophistication and edge. I’m a huge fan!”
While we think Glenn looks amazing, we asked Dr. Grover what he’d suggest for the Oscar-nominated actress. “She could benefit from a mild endoscopic browlift and upper and lower blepharoplasty [for her eyelids],” he says. “Plus, [filler injections of] Restylane to the tear troughs and Sculptra Aesthetic diffusely to the face for a mildly fuller appearance.”
Let us know what you think of Glenn’s new look, too!
