Dramatic Photos Show How One Woman Dropped 6 Dress Sizes…By Losing 2 Pounds

By ·

Fit mom Adrienne Osuna shared a dramatic before and after photo on her Instagram, showing off her toned, lean body. Looking at the photo, one would assume the after is due to a dramatic weight loss, but the amount of weight she actually lost was just two pounds.

This post, which now has over 11k likes, once again proves how insignificant numbers on a scale are when it comes to health and body image. And it’s not just the image that proves this dramatic difference—the mom of four explains in the post how the 2 lbs. took her from a size 16 to a size 10.

“I really want women to know that the scale should not be the only factor they consider,” Osuna told People. “They should take measurements and pictures and go based on how they feel and look. Freedom from the scale is so liberating!” In her Instagram post, she recognizes how thankful she is that she finally stopped letting what the scale read effect her. “I hope you see the scale go down,” she writes. “But if it doesn’t it’s ok! Put it in perspective and STOP letting the scale throw you off.”

Osuna points out that the scale didn’t fluctuate much due to the muscle she was gaining. When trying to lose weight before, she was obsessed with cardio and dieting. But once she cut back her cardio to two days a week and began focusing on weight lifting, which she did four days a week, she saw a real difference.

Although she didn’t necessarily diet, Osuna did fast intermittently, not eating from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. everyday (except for a morning coffee with cream).

When talking with People, she explained how friends and family kept telling her how great she looked, but she didn’t believe it. “I kept saying, ‘I wish! The scale hasn’t moved!’” It wasn’t until clothes stopped fitting and she compared pictures that she realized what a difference her new workouts were making. “I realized what was happening and it fueled me. It also made me want to share with other ladies that the scale is not the ultimate factor in your success.”
