About My Practice
What is your practice like?
It’s friendly and inviting. Patients are often dealing with intimate issues regarding self-esteem. Because of the sensitivity required when dealing with these issues, our environment is relaxed and comfortable to allow open communication.
What is a consultation with you like?
First of all, there is more than one consultation. I get to know my patients and go over the reasonable options in detail. Then, I meet with the patient a second time so we can go over additional details and begin preparation by taking before photos, getting consent forms and doing a more thorough exam. Whoever you have doing your surgery; you want to feel comfortable with him or her. I work hard to establish a foundation of trust with my patients long before we go to the operating room.
What do you do to augment patient comfort?
I use On-Q® pain pumps to keep patients comfortable post-op. In breast and body-contouring especially, this tool seriously reduces pain. The one mm diameter catheter bathes the effected tissue in local anesthetics and is not nauseating, making post-op more comfortable for the patient.
About Me
Who influenced your decision to go into medicine?
My father is a retired general surgeon. As a kid, I would tag along with him and just watch how he practiced. It was certainly an inspiration for me.
Why do you like practicing in Central Florida?
After my six-year plastic surgery residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, I grew tired of the cold weather and returned home. These are my roots. I love it here.
What are you best known for?
My practice has a great reputation for honesty and safety regarding patient selection, which is important in our community.

FAQs
-
What is the difference between regular liposuction and laser liposuction? What our experts say:
The major difference for the patient is the gentler nature of laser-assisted liposuction, or SmartLipoTM. In most cases, it’s a gentle enough procedure that we can do it as an office procedure without the additional risks and costs of general anesthesia. We’re able to do this because SmartLipo uses laser energy to melt and emulsify fat and very small cannulas to remove it. Earlier forms of liposuction used larger cannulas, which can result in additional bruising and swelling. Most importantly, we see a skin tightening effect with SmartLipo.

This is a discussion to have with your plastic surgeon. It depends on the type of filler, duration of effect, and cost. Hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, usually last four to six months. Fat grafting is more permanent. Sculptra lasts about 2 years and Radiesse lasts several months up to a year.
