A Minute With
1
Which surgical trends are you seeing at your practice?
We’re seeing an increase in revisionary surgeries for breasts in terms of like going smaller removal of breast implants, changing our breast implants for fat grafting as patients age out of the implants or “implant fatigue.” For facelifts, we are seeing a lot of patients wanting a deep-plane facelift who have been referred from other patients.
2
What is your approach to breast surgery?
I tailor my approach to each patient, recognizing the diversity in body typesand shapes. I generally opt for a submuscular or partial submuscular dual-plane augmentation, ensuring appropriate coverage. For those seeking a more natural augmentation, I often place the implant over the muscle. In cases of revisions or secondary surgeries, I frequently incorporate mesh to meticulously control the pocket. This becomes particularly crucial for patients transitioning from larger to smaller implants, enabling precise pocket management and, when necessary, facilitating breast tissue regeneration through techniques like lifts or reductions.
3
Which medical myth do you hear most often from patients?
That liposuction is an easy recovery.
4
Which three words best describe your personality?
Honest, outgoing and straight to the point.
5
How do you manage patient expectations?
I believe in absolute transparency and direct communication with my patients. To effectively manage this, we begin by establishing clear expectations. Many surgeons overlook this crucial step, but we prioritize it. We not only articulate these expectations verbally but also provide a comprehensive visual understanding through post-operative photographs of previous patients. This approach allows individuals to witness real outcomes and, importantly, facilitates an honest discussion about what they can realistically anticipate based on their unique starting point.
6
What are your most requested procedures
Facelifts, eyelid lifts, breast augmentations, revision breast augmentations and tummy tucks.
7
How does your staff enhance your practice
My staff plays a crucial role in the seamless functioning of my practice. This includes my practitioners and physician’s assistants, who are primarily women and attend to all patients, especially those consulting with me. Additionally, I have a male nurse who focuses on facial procedures in collaboration with me. Each patient is assigned a dedicated, highly trained provider with the expertise to address any questions or concerns the patient may have. The enduring relationships patients build with our staff contributes to a level of continuity and trust. Many of our patients become repeat clients because of the elevated experience we provide.
