Philosophy

Specializing in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Adam N. Summers is a board-certified plastic surgeon who, in 1996, began developing a minimally invasive facelift technique to lift the brows, cheeks, jowls and upper neck without removing any skin. Now, as a clinical assistant professor of plastic surgery, he has performed the “SMART Facelift” on more than 1,000 patients. “Patients enjoy the natural-looking results obtained with this minimally invasive procedure,” says Dr. Summers, who refined the technique to achieve reliable results without requiring patients to be asleep for the procedure. As a perfectionist and artist, he continually refines and customizes the “One-Hour SMART Facelift.”

How is your practice influenced by the graphic arts?: I have been honored to win awards and have my artwork on display at the national library of medicine. These experiences have provided me with a unique creative foundation and perspective. Because the field of plastic surgery is grounded in both art and science, I believe my background is instrumental in helping my cosmetic surgery patients obtain consistently natural results.
