It’s official: Clinique’s newest addition to the Honey family is here. Nude Honey ($25) joins Pink Honey ($25) and the endlessly loved Black Honey ($25) Almost Lipstick family.
It’s hard to compete with a classic like Black Honey. The nearly-black, plummy shade has looked great on everyone who’s worn it since the 1970s. Luckily, Nude Honey carries over the same ethos as its famous predecessor; it’s a universally flattering neutral designed to enhance your natural lip tone, creating an everyday shade entirely unique to you. And just like the Honey’s before, Nude Honey Almost Lipstick has a sheer buildable tint that layers for more intensity with a balm-meets-lipstick formula that’s full of conditioning ingredients, such as castor oil, candelilla and carnauba waxesso. Lips stay moisturized no matter how many layers you wear, or how long you wear it.
I Tried It
Black Honey has been a go-to lip color for me since the ’90s, but knowing I don’t normally reach for nude or brown-hued lip products, I had low expectations for Nude Honey. Shockingly, I really like the distinctly bronzy hue. On my lips, Nude Honey starts as a warm, peachy-brown; as I add layers it becomes darker and deeper; more of beachy mocha I imagine will look even better on summer-kissed skin. Formula-wise, Nude Honey is as balmy and moisturizing as its Almost Lipstick siblings—it stays buttery and glossy for hours. Black Honey is still my preferred shade of all three of the shades, but Nude Honey comes in second for a more casual, summery look.
