Hot-cold, north-south, day-night. In the world of opposites, kale-cocktail isn’t too far off from coming to mind as a common antonym to add to the list.

Or is it?

Color Wow seems to think the two are kind of close—specifically in the world of saving your strands. The line is known for offering really great options for extending color-treated hair and now they are breaking through into a new category in a big way, introducing leave-in, bond-building supplements they’ve coined “Bionic Tonics.”

One of the big rollouts, the Kale Cocktail ($24), is a powerful product that seriously strengthens hair after just one use (the company stands by the stat that states it will do so by more than 50 percent). There’s also a Carb and a Coconut Cocktail, each of which have specific benefits and can be used in conjunction.

The kale version is made with sulphur-rich sea kale to help reinforce hair’s vital internal bonds, plus it’s loaded with protein-building amino acids and B vitamins to smooth hair and minimize breakage. It also has the big-time bonus—especially for color-treated hair that’s prone to fading—to offer up some UV sun protection.

To use, you shake it up, apply to lightly towel-dried, damp hair and, like the name suggests, leave it in to work its magic. One of the most unique things about the formula is that it actually seems to work better when you add some heat (in the form of a blow-dryer or flat iron) into the mix after applying.

And we can cheers to all of that.
