I Had a Facial in a Bubble and You Can Too
While recently visiting the gorgeous Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, I had the chance to experience something I had never even heard of before: a facial in a bubble. The bubble being Natura Bissé's Bubble Pure Air, which is a new concept for the spa industry, and a super cool one at that.
The exclusive bubble (it travels to spas across the world for short periods of time so people everywhere can experience it) is filled with 99.995 percent pure air and free from contaminating particles, viral agents and allergens. This means that pure air is able to oxygenate the body's cells to create a whole-body experience, even when you're just getting a facial.

The concept stems from the foundations of physiotherapy and was developed by a Spanish company for athletes with respiratory allergies and asthma conditions to enhance their health and performance— Natura Bissé has exclusive rights to the bubble for beauty uses.
Having a facial in this type of unique environment allows each product—I found Natura Bissé's Oxygen line to be particularly stimulating on my skin—to be more easily absorbed by the skin, and for me, it really did. It felt as though my skin was drinking up each product almost instantly. My post-facial glow said it all.
The sterile air also delivers a detoxifying effect, so not only can skin clarity be enhanced, but clarity of the mind can also be felt. I was told to take a few deep breaths during the treatment, and I began to experience incredible relaxation.
I could hear a bit of the "white noise" from the generator that pumps the pure air into the bubble, but I found it to be soothing and comforting rather than a distraction. I could also hear the birds chirping and the sound of the water swooshing in the spa pool nearby. Needless to say, I think every spa treatment should be performed in a bubble.
If you're a spa junkie too and curious to try it out for yourself, see below for the list of locations that the bubble will be visiting in the next couple months.
