Fashion icon Alexa Chung has long been one of our favorite trendsetters, so naturally, we’re always curious about what she’s wearing—especially when it comes to beauty. Lucky for us, she recently revealed her signature scent to The Cut. While many of us NewBeauty editors are guilty of stocking our vanities with countless perfumes and swapping out our signature scent seasonally, Chung keeps it refreshingly simple, naming just one as her all-time favorite.
When asked to name her “signature scent,” she revealed, “Régime des Fleurs. It’s a fragrance made in collaboration with my friend Christopher Niquet. It’s called Rock River Melody and it’s named after his pony from when he was a kid, which is a really extra name to give a horse.” (True.) Fortunately for us, she described its unique scent as well. “It sort of smells like leather, but it’s also feminine and warm. It has a summer vibe to it but not too floral and pretty,” she said.
Perfumer and Régime des Fleurs founder Alia Raza has her own vivid description: “Christopher and I worked together to capture that feeling of striking out into the outdoors for the first time after a long winter. Crisp spring mornings with young leaves on trees and flowers just beginning to bud. We envisioned the magic of the ancient forest of Fontainebleau outside of Paris whose vistas have been captured by artists and inhabited by French aristocracy for a millennium.”
For those who prefer a breakdown of fragrance notes, the scent opens with fresh, green hedera ivy and bergamot, transitions into earthy patchouli and delicate florals like rose and finishes warm and woody with sandalwood, cedar and musk. If you love an earthy, outdoors-inspired fragrance, this one might just be worth adding to your collection—especially with Chung’s seal of approval.
