According to Yelp’s 2025 Trend Forecast, searches for what the platform calls “grown-up getaways” are at an all-time high—and the trend shows no signs of slowing down. The buzzy category spans a wide range of experiences, from adult versions of childhood summer camps to postnatal retreats designed to help new parents adjust to life with a little one. Without a doubt, it’s a rising force in the travel industry—and the big question is, will you be taking part?
Postpartum Retreats Are Leading the Charge
Leading the charge in terms of increased search volume are postpartum retreats, with a massive 475% increase since last year; geared towards new parents to get comprehensive support after welcoming a new family member. Two popular options we’ve come across are the Sanu Postnatal Retreat, described as “the first physician-developed postpartum care stay in the U.S” and The Village Postnatal Retreat Center, “a space to heal, recover and transition into parenthood.”
Adult Camps Are the New Summer Activity to Get Excited About
Also trending are “adult camps” which have skyrocketed in popularity by an impressive 347%. These camps are exactly what they sound like: a nostalgic nod to classic camp activities like s’mores and group games, reimagined with an adults-only twist. One popular destination is Camp No Counselors, with locations in New York and California, which offers everything from arts and crafts and archery to pool parties and paddleboarding. The camp’s website encourages visitors to “book soon” for the 2025 season, as demand is already heating up for summer.
Health and Wellness Retreats Continue to Garner Interest
Beyond adult camps, retreats with a specific focus are also trending. Searches for fitness retreats are up 83%, wellness retreats have increased by 58% and holistic retreats have climbed 68%. These are all trends we’ve seen an increased interest in among celebrities and our editors alike, even as recently as the past year. Case in point: Kate Beckinsale and her mom visited the SHA Wellness Clinic in Spain to prioritize “holistic wellness” and one of our editors braved a fitness retreat in Tulum. With countless options to explore across the globe, there’s bound to be a retreat that feels like it was made just for you.
