The Kansas City Chiefs may have the clear advantage this Super Bowl with the color red on their side—not to mention the queen of red lipstick as their number-one fan—but let’s not discount the Philadelphia Eagles‘ midnight and Kelly green motifs for offering some solid inspiration in the beauty department.
While Philly Nail Company in South Philadelphia says most clients are “opting to stick with Valentine’s Day nails” before the big game, they do have a specific Eagles-inspired set—and shade—for the most devoted fans.
Offering gel manicures, pedicures, spa pedicures and nail art, the salon says the unofficial manicure color behind their original artwork is Melody Susie Gel in 348 ($10), a highly saturated, high-gloss polish that is a true “Eagles green.”
Go-to celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann may be located a bit north of the City of Brotherly Love in New York, but she appreciates a nail nod to the Birds for the Super Bowl as well.
“My shade Wild Thing ($20) is the perfect bold statement color for Eagles fans,” she says of the deep-peacock shade. “And Dream Weaver ($20) adds a fun, sparkly twist to that iconic green. Both are a great way to show off team spirit with a touch of glamour!”
From sage-green shimmers like Feeling’ Capricorn-y ($12) to teals like Sheen Stealer ($14.50), OPI says they have “a whole variety of greens” that work well for Eagles fans looking to show off their support. For those spectators looking to be a tad more subtle, they recommend picking up the whites, blacks and silvers from the team’s colors, found in shades like Alpine Show ($12), Black Onyx ($12) and Chrome Clawz ($12).
