At 28, Lana Condor exudes a kind of easy youthfulness, even through a laptop screen. When we connect to talk about her new partnership with Thorne, she’s wearing a springy, colorful striped Guest in Residence cashmere sweater (one I immediately looked up after our call) and an equally cheerful nail art look that looks far more time-intensive than anything I managed all week.
And yet, for all the bright, youthful energy she brings, the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star is already thinking seriously about the realities of aging—especially the less talked-about ones, like shifts in libido and energy. That mindset also carries into her role as the face of the brand’s new Women’s Libido Boost ($48), a non-hormonal, plant-based supplement meant to support desire and arousal, while also helping with energy, mood and overall hormonal balance.
Ahead, standouts from our conversation, from shifting energy levels to the wellness routines she relies on to feel her best.
Congratulations on partnering with Thorne for its new Women’s Libido Boost product. What made this feel like the right conversation for you to step into right now?
“I’m in a transitional period of my life,” Condor says. “I’m turning 30 next year, and this is the first year where I’m really feeling myself getting older. It’s a really great thing, and I’m very optimistic about it, but I’m waking up with a little bit of pain. My energy and stamina levels aren’t what they used to be.
So I’m in this moment where my body, my hormones and my mind are changing. The Women’s Libido Boost ($48) is something I was actually searching for before I was even involved in this. I was looking for something that wasn’t just about desire, but about my overall vitality and energy levels, because those are changing. And I’m definitely feeling those effects.”
Libido is still something that isn’t talked about openly. What do you wish more women understood about how it can change over time?
“It shifts over time, and that’s normal. That’s part of your body’s natural process.
I always thought libido was just about sexual pleasure, but it’s so much more than that. It affects how you feel energetically throughout the day and in your everyday habits. This isn’t just exclusive to sexy time—it’s about your overall wellness and health. Even when I was telling my girlfriends about this partnership, and how excited I was, all of them were like, ‘Oh my God, give it to me. I need this.’”
What wellness habits have made the biggest difference for you?
“I really started focusing on taking care of my body and my mind within the last few years: the supplements I take, the food I eat and the different health practices. I’m big into hyperbaric [oxygen therapy], lymphatic drainage, red light therapy and hot and cold therapy.
It might sound like, ‘Oh, she’s doing the most,’ but genuinely, I just want to take care of the body that I’m in, and I want to take care of my mind.”
Do you have a favorite of those habits?
“I love everything, but hot and cold therapy is major for me. I’ll do 20 minutes in about an 85 to 87 degree sauna, and then after the 20, I’ll go into a five-minute cold plunge, and then I go back to the sauna, and then I finish on the cold plunge.
I do that, if I can, like three times a week. It’s so hard for me to mentally get there sometimes, but I always feel so much better after. My body feels better. My mind feels better. And I like the mental challenge of forcing myself to get into the cold. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.”
How has your definition of wellness changed as you’ve gotten older?
“My definition has changed in terms of priority. These wellness practices are non-negotiables now. As I get older and my body and hormones are changing, I realize I won’t be able to function the way I want to if I don’t take care of myself.
My boundaries are much stronger now. When I was younger, I could journal once a month and feel like that was enough. Now I have to journal every day or my mind doesn’t feel right.”
How does your beauty routine tie into your overall sense of wellness?
“When I feel the most beautiful, it’s when I’ve been taking care of myself and I’ve been eating right and sleeping. I’m a very sleepy girl, and I prioritize my sleep because I just feel better. I can show up more for myself and for others if I’m rested.
Even just doing my skin care, I feel like I’m taking care of myself. It’s my favorite thing ever. I think people think that’s such a luxury, but I really believe there are habits and small practices you can commit to every day to make yourself feel a little bit better.
It doesn’t have to be that crazy. You can really bring it down and keep it simple and still take care of yourself.”
