We may not be able to Keep Up with Kim Kardashian's daily musings on the small screen anymore, but the entrepreneur is still giving fans a glimpse inside her skin-care treatments via social media.

Posted this week from Beverly Hills, CA, plastic surgeon Ashkan Ghavami, MD's office, Kardashian shares she has been undergoing a series of Potenza microneedling treatments in hopes of fading existing hyperpigmentation.

"I've been doing [it] on my face and I'm so excited because I do have sun spots and dark spots and it really takes it all away. I'm really excited to continue my treatment," says the reality star.

By creating hundreds of micro-injuries in the skin via tiny needles, microneedling triggers the skin's healing process and calls on the formation of new collagen and elastin for skin that appears smoother, younger and refreshed. Devices such as the Potenza, however, take the treatment up a notch by pairing microneedling with radiofrequency energy (RF) for even more collagen and elastin generation, plus the tightening of existing collagen beneath the surface of the skin.

In order to see best results from microneedling with RF, a series of treatments is recommended. Post-treatment, mild swelling and redness is common and will generally subside after a day or two.
