how-a-doct

To become certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a physician must complete a specialized residency (either in surgery, otolaryngology or orthopedics) after medical school and pass a rigorous set of written and oral exams. Qualified plastic surgeons then apply for membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and those who meet certain continuing-education requirements and have experience with cosmetic procedures apply for membership in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). In Canada, plastic surgeons are certified by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
