French manicures have gotten remixed a hundred times over the past year. From deep French designs to glass Frenchies, there’s been a lot of interesting takes on the classic look. Lately, it feels like innovation has slowed, and we haven’t seen anything fresh in a bit, that is, until we saw Jennie of BLACKPINK’s recent manicure.
Celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt is the mastermind behind many of our favorite cutting-edge nail looks, and this French manicure moment is no different. Ganzorgit recently gave Jennie what she’s calling a C-shaped French manicure.
For Jennie’s recent manicure, Ganzorigt did a barely-there base with a fun pop of red for the C-shaped French. To get the base color, she applied one coat of the iconic OPI Bubble Bath ($12) and one coat of OPI Bare My Soul ($12). For the curved French line, she added a pop of color with OPI Big Apple Red ($12).
While we love the color combination Ganzorgit used, we can’t help but imagine all the chic duo possibilities, from contrasting colors to different saturations of the same hue. This elegant twist on the classic French manicure is timeless yet trendy and subtle enough for the minimalists amongst us.
