The 10-Minute Workout You Can Do Anywhere

You probably already know that sitting for hours on end is detrimental to your health. But, with so many professionals requiring the average person to sit for eight hours a day, how can we undo the damage? Two words: get moving.

There are differing opinions on the type and length of workout that is ideal, but we know the perfect workout to start with. This one, courtesy of celebrity fitness trainer Astrid McGuire, requires nothing but you and 10 minutes of your time. There’s no equipment needed, so you can do it anywhere—even at your desk!

What to Do:
10 jumping jacks
10 squats
10 squat jacks (How to: Stay low in a squat position and jump legs out and into a jumping jack)
10 push-ups
10 walking planks (How to: From the push-up position, lower down to your forearms and push back up onto your hands)
Take a 10-second break, then repeat 10 times.

Why it Works:
The key to a short-interval work out like this? Keep your body moving. “This routine works because it is constant movement and works the body head to toe,” says McGuire.
