Judging by the coats and jackets strategically hidden in bins under my bed (hello, NYC apartment), summer (ish) weather is finally here. But it’s not only my closet that needs a seasonal adjustment, my beauty routine does too. I want protected, glowy skin, flushed cheeks, long-lasting glossy lips and silky strands that’ll stand up to full days spent in the park, eating every meal possible outdoors and holidays spent by the beach. Luckily, a quick peek through Ulta Beauty’s new arrivals proves I can get rosy blushes, skin-nourishing SPFs, damage-reversing shampoos and more all in one place. Below, check out our favorite of the newest products to hit Ulta’s virtual shelves that you’ll use all summer long.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beauty Soulmates Brighten & Blush Powder Palette ($52)
What do you get when you pair an Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder (to neutralize dark under-eye circles and redness) with a Pillow Talk Love Blush (for a fresh, healthy flush)? A complete face makeup routine complete in seconds.
PAT McGRATH LABS Skin Fetish: Glass 001 Artistry Mask ($38)
“Attention everyone: the secret to Pat McGrath’s glass skin is no longer a secret,” our editor shared earlier this year at the launch of McGrath’s Glass Skin Artistry Mask. The peel-off mask makes the porcelain-like skin of runway models a reality, revealing a hydrated, tightened and glowing complexion after each use.
TOM FORD Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette ($200)
Featured on our list of The Best New Fragrances in May is Tom Ford’s Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette, a fresher, lighter version of the eau de parfum. One editor describes it as a “sparkling, citrusy, solar scent that captures an endless summer.” Sold.
OUAI Thickening Spray ($30)
Even in the grips of summer heat, fine strands can look limp and stringy. With amino acids and peptides, OUAI’s Thickening Spray helps boost hair’s fullness and repair damage for overall healthier, softer hair. Bonus: it’s also a great heat protectant for styling up to 450 degrees°F.
Naked Sundays PoutScreen Lip Treatment SPF50 ($26)
I can’t emphasize how important it is to extend SPF protection to lips, and if you’re going to be applying lip balm anyway, why not grab one with SPF 50? Naked Sunday’s PoutScreen includes jojoba seed oil, tomato extract and squalane in its protective formula to keep lips expertly nourished. Cotton Candy is the perfect pop of pink for summer, and it also comes in Marshmallow, a pretty peachy nude.
Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 ($32)
Speaking of SPF, my favorite Supergoop! sunscreen formula, PLAY Everyday, now comes in an easy-to-reapply stick to reach every inch of your face; mess-free, thanks to its natural, clear finish.
RMS Beauty Eyelights Cream Eyeshadow ($28)
Sticking with the easy-to-use theme, RMS Beauty’s cream eyeshadows are a whole eye look in seconds. Throw them in your bag for when your summer day turns into an evening out.
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Skin Refining Setting Powder ($45)
If the summer temps have your skin looking especially shiny by midday, you can’t go wrong with Lancôme Teint Idole setting powder. It comes in five shades that all deliver a light, soft matte finish that won’t cake, even in the heat.
The Ordinary UV Filters SPF 45 Serum ($19)
The Ordinary does it again with this lightweight SPF serum that combines sun protection with ceramide-rich skin hydration. It protects and locks moisture in, leaving skin looking luminous and plump.
Kopari Beauty Brightening Silk Body Cream ($48)
Nothing quite screams summer like showing off soft skin. Kopari’s new Brightening Silk Body Cream uses niacinamide, AHAs and Kakadu plum to gently exfoliate, hydrate and even skin tone from head to toe.
OLAPLEX No.4Fine Bond Maintenance Shampoo ($32)
An offshoot of Olaplex’s beloved No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo is No.4Fine, a formula specifically made to strengthen and add volume to fine hair types. According to clinical testing, it doubles hair volume instantly and users reported a noticeable reduction in hair breakage.
IT Cosmetics Do It All Radiant Concealer ($30)
I have tried It Cosmetics’ new serum concealer and it is the only one I’ll be wearing this summer. For such a lightweight formula, it provides excellent coverage without looking heavy—true “second skin” makeup. With hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, it also delivers an extra boost of hydration and brightening.
BeautyStat Cosmetics C Lip Serum SPF 30 ($15)
If you like your lip products a little more opaque than glossy, may I recommend Beauty Stat’s C Lip Serum SPF 30. In Baby Pink or Natural Peach, you get noticeable lip color, SPF protection and a dose of L-ascorbic acid (vitamin c) and peptides for hydration, improved texture and fuller-looking lips.
Verb Frizz Defense Smoothing Spray ($22)
Humidity is no one’s favorite part of summer, but that’s where a good de-frizzing spray comes in, like this one from Verb. The brand describes it as an “anti-frizz shield,” that leaves hair shinier, smoother and sleeker, no matter the weather. Plus, it acts as a heat protectant too.
Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Liner ($23)
Lip liner has made a comeback in a big way, and Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Lip Liners are some of the best thanks to a hyaluronic acid-rich formula that’s never drying. It’s so “juicy,” you can fill in your entire lips with any of the 16 shades and call it a day.
