Doctors have access to the best of the best, but which products actually make the cut when it comes to their personal regimens? Here’s an inside look at Reno, NV plastic surgeon Tiffany McCormack, MD’s daily lineup.

My Skin-Care Philosophy
“I am a mother of two active boys and I live in a very dry, sunny climate, so I take my skin care very seriously! I try to balance prevention and protection with correction and maintenance.”
My Biggest Complexion Concerns
“I struggle with sun damage because I spend so much time outside riding horses, hiking, watching my kids play sports, etc. Damage appears in the form of discoloration, dryness, redness and fine lines.”
The Best Skin-Care Advice I’ve Received
“Prevention is the most important tool. It is way harder to correct than to prevent damage in the first place. Using products that are synergistic can really help, such as antioxidant vitamin C combined with sunblock.”

Morning Routine
“In the morning, I start with Obagi-C Rx System C-Clarifying Serum ($126), which contains prescription-strength hydroquinone for a lighter, more even skin tone, as well as antioxidant vitamin C. Both help erase dark spots.” Next, I apply DefenAge 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream ($127) for intense hydration. I follow this with DefenAge 8-in-1 BioSerum ($220), which features defensins that help rejuvenate and smooth my skin to minimize the look of lines, wrinkles, large pores and redness. I never leave the house without a good sunscreen. I often use Alastin HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36 ($55), which also provides nice coverage in lieu of foundation. My alternate screen for when I know I will spend a lot of time outside is SkinMedica Total Defense + Repair Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50+ ($68) because it includes protection against UVA, UVB and infrared for better age defense.”

Evening Routine
ZO Skin Health Exfoliating Cleanser ($45) is great because it unclogs my pores and removes dirt and surface oil, but it’s gentle enough that it doesn’t irritate my skin. After cleansing, I use the DefenAge 2-Minute Reveal resurfacing mask ($74), but only twice a week, as not to over-exfoliate. Then I apply the 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream ($127) to hydrate my skin overnight and the 8-in-1 BioSerum ($220) again. I use it twice a day because it really is a powerful anti-ager that helps with wrinkles, pigment and texture without side effects. My husband uses it, too—he does not fool around with a lot of products, and this alone covers what several others do combined. Lastly, I use ZO Skin Health Retinol Skin Brightener 1% ($120) for excellent discoloration correction.”
