Whether your 2000’s comfort movie is The Notebook, Mean Girls, About Time or Wedding Crashers, they all have one thing in common: Rachel McAdams. Ever since the start of her career, the Canadian actress has been winning her way into our hearts in her romantic and comedic roles.
Whether she’s playing Regina George or Allie Hamilton or just stepping onto a red carpet as her gorgeous self, we all picture McAdams the same way: blonde. While the star’s strands have varied from bright blonde to “bronde” to strawberry blonde, she hasn’t strayed too far from the lighter tones in the past decade. That is, however, until now.
Rachel McAdams Debuts Brunette Hair
In this day and age, it seems that the red carpet is the perfect place to debut all of your life changes. Whether it’s a baby bump à la Vanessa Hudgens or a new ‘do à la a lengthy list of A listers, there’s no better place to show off something new than on the carpet. At the opening night for the star-studded Broadway play Enemy of the People, McAdams took to the carpet wearing an all-navy ensemble, but the star of the look was her brunette strands.
For quite some time, McAdams has been rocking a dark blonde look with lighter, face-framing money pieces in the front, but at the premier for the Broadway show starring Jeremy Scott, the 45-year-old actress sported a much darker ‘do. The star’s hair is now fully brunette, but still maintains some lighter strands, adding dimension and movement to the look. Is “candlelit brunette” the color of the spring? According to Rachel, the answer is yes.
