In 2025, we’re ditching the traditional baby shower and all the pressure it puts on the new parents. Instead, more and more couples are opting to host a “nesting party.” Here, family and friends help prepare the house for a brand new baby’s arrival. Instead of gender reveal cakes and gifted baby clothes and stuffed toys, partygoers help baby-proof, organize and support the new parents however they can.
This Trend Is Taking Flight
According to Pinterest Predicts 2025, Millennials and Gen Z are driving this emerging trend, and it’s set to be huge this year. Searches for the term “nesting party” are up 205 percent in just one year, indicating major interest.
And we know that gifts aren’t supposed to be a part of this process, but hear us out. Instead of focusing on gifting for the baby, try getting something just for mom-to-be. You could bring some much-needed aromatherapy for the parent’s bedroom, or contribute few homemade meals to their freezer to make the first few nights a little easier. Since a nesting party is all about support, focus on making mom comfy, cozy and seen.
