2024 has already established itself as the year of soft glam, “clean girl” aesthetics, but if you’re anything like me, part of you still yearns for the days of pastel hair, flower crowns and full beats. Maybe it’s just me coming off the Coachella content high, but the 2016, King Kylie era has a special place in my heart. If you agree, you have Megan Fox to thank for single-handedly keeping the trend alive.

While even Kylie herself has taken on a more subdued look, Fox continues to experiment with hair and makeup in a way that is exciting and playful. Not long ago, the Jennifer’s Body star debuted her “blue denim” hair, and has been pairing the pastel hue with her signature filled-in brows, lined lips and contoured face. But, in a far different kind of post for the star, Fox showed off her makeup-free face on Instagram yesterday, and fans almost didn’t recognize her.

Megan Fox Goes No Makeup to Repair Her Coachella Extensions

When Fox debuted her pastel blue hair earlier this month, she was rocking a shoulder-skimming bob. But, throughout the whirlwind weekend of Coachella, she was seen with blue hair down to her hips, thanks to what she revealed in her caption was a whopping 26 inches of extensions. While her remarkable physique and lengthy strands were eye-catching, the most enthralling part of the post was Fox’s bare face. With her baby-soft complexion—free from any sort of imperfection—completely uncovered, her incredible, natural skin and bone structure were on full display, and fans were in total awe.

We too had to do a double take at this rare state of the 37-year-old actress, but after verifying it was our favorite candid queen, we couldn’t get enough of her pared-back beauty. Rocking only a bralette and flannel pajama pants, Fox told followers in the caption that she was on a journey to repair her hair “and 26 inches of extensions post Coachella.” The products she’s using to get her hair in tip top shape? Wella Professional’s Ultimate Repair Miracle Hair Rescue ($35) and Protective Leave-In ($35).

While we couldn’t get enough of Fox’s gorgeous, bare-faced post, the internet trolls were of course in full force, with dozens of commenters speculating that the photo was AI generated or heavily photoshopped. Personally, I’d take it as a compliment if I looked so naturally perfect that followers thought I was fake, and Fox—who’s confidence is pretty much never shaken—had the perfect response to the haters, writing “go ask @machinegunkelly if this is AI.”
