The Real Housewives of Miami returned to television screens last month on Peacock after an eight-year hiatus, and while the drama hasn’t changed much, many viewers commented on how different the returning housewives looked. Comments flew in about how Lisa Hochstein, the wife of plastic surgeon Lenny Hochstein, and her cast mates looked extra enhanced this time around, something she says she noticed herself when watching the newly released episodes.

“I’m very aware I had too much filler in my face. I’ve removed a lot of it since we wrapped. I was addicted…thankfully it can be reversed,” tweeted Hochstein in late December. On last night’s Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Hochstein about why she decided to have her filler removed and if she’d actually gone through with it.

“I have removed maybe 60 percent of the filler,” she replied. “Can you tell? I definitely overdid it. I had an addiction and when watching the show, I saw it and was horrified.”

Hotchstein is married to Miami plastic surgeon Lenny Hochstein and together they own a medspa that she says gave her easy access, which led to her overfilled look. “It was no fault of my med spa,” she explained. “I would literally go in there with like a gun to their head and tell them to shoot me up, and they had to do it. You know, it’s available to me and it’s like I can do whatever I want, and I did.”

Reversing hyaluronic acid fillers is possible with the use of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down and dissolves the filler,” explains New York dermatologist Marina Peredo, MD, who notes she did not treat the reality star but has vast experience performing filler revisions. “It doesn’t remove all of it and may take several sessions to administer and restore the natural contours of the face.”

Luckily, Hochstein was able to use her access to injectables to quickly begin the process of reversing her overfilled look. “It was a huge mistake, but I now feel like I’m coming looking more like myself,” she told Cohen.
