This Popular At-Home Workout Helped Katherine Heigl Transform Her Body in Just Weeks featured image

The days of fancy fitness classes may officially be behind us. Millions of women around the world, celebrities included, have turned to Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide, or BBG for short, to completely transform their bodies in their own living rooms, and countless success stories make the program sound like a no-brainer. The latest to hop on the Aussie-led bandwagon: none other than Katherine Heigl, and her results are stellar enough to get you to give it a try, too.

“It’s been almost 14 months since Joshua Jr was born and it has taken me about that long to really get back in shape,” the actress captioned the Instagram post of her jaw-dropping transformation shots, which the BBG program highly recommends each user take as a way to track progress and motivate you—and the rest of the BBG community—to keep powering on. While Heigl’s shots weren’t weeks apart—in fact, she explains the first picture was taken one month after she delivered, the second was taken almost one full year later and the last picture was taken this past weekend—they are no less impressive.

She continues, “I have a beach vacation coming up, a new job I start filming in April and my deep desire to feel fit, strong and sexy propelling me forward the last two months to finally loose the last of my baby weight and do a deep dive search for the ab muscles I knew were buried under that belly somewhere!” However, her main motivation to get going on the program was actually a fashion blogger who has been very transparent with her own BBG journey. “I was wholly and totally inspired by Miss @rachparcell [Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies] and the before and after pics she shared after taking the #bbg challenge.” Heigl adds that she had never heard of the program before, but because of how “damn great” Parcell looked after having her baby a few months before Heigl, she had to check it out. You can see a glimpse of Parcell’s transformation below, which Heigl later thanks her for sharing and further getting “this mama motivated.” 

Heigl opted to use the Sweat app, the official app for the Bikini Body Guide, which she says features several different programs and makes it incredibly easy for you to do anywhere, which for her, was her bedroom. But, she also offers a warning: If you’re looking for easy-breezy workouts, look elsewhere. “I won’t lie, the workouts are real ass kickers but the progress I’ve made in only 5 short weeks has kept me motivated and inspired to keep going!” 

Later, Heigl adds that it is time to make the strength, fitness and overall health of her body a priority—and by the looks of the comments on her post, such as, “You just gave me the motivation to finally get back into shape after my full hysterectomy”—she’s inspiring thousands of women to do the same.
