If you’re anything like us, you’ve wondered how Janet Jackson has always managed to come back from the brink of plumpness to turn up looking amazing. The 41-year-old triple threat has experienced weight fluctuations throughout her life. Average-sized as a child, she emerged on the music scene a little chubby. When the video for Rhythm Nation‘s “Love Will Never Do (Without You)” hit MTV, she dropped jaws with a remarkable makeover that revealed a tight abs, lean arms, and a baby-fat-free face. However, not long after her revealing Super Bowl shocker, she surprised fans even more by packing on so many pounds that she was hardly recognizable. UsWeekly reported that she peaked at 180. But in true Janet fashion, she didn’t stay overweight for long, getting back down to a lean 120 pounds.
And now, the Why Did I Get Married? star is planning to share her lifelong weight woes with unprecedented detail. “I’m writing a book on my journey of weight loss and weight gain,” she told People earlier this month. Not only will it reveal the reasons behind her dramatic changes, but the as yet unnamed book will include what she did “nutrition-wise to get down in size when I needed to.”
We’re definitely looking forward to peeking into the mind behind the body!
