With a new year comes new trends and as far as hairstyling goes, celebrity hair stylist Marie Ferro knows best. With the New Year just getting started, there’s no better time to try a new ‘do. Ferro shared with us her predictions for the up-and-coming hairstyles of 2013.
Shorter Hair
“Shorter hairstyles are going to be more prevalent,” says Ferro. “Shorter hair on mature women can take years off their look and can create a more professional look for younger women,” she adds. “For the women who wants to keep her hair length, long face-framing layers will be in style—flatter hair on the top of the head and fuller on the sides.”
Hair Color Hues
According to Ferro, who uses Goldwell color, ombre is making a comeback. “The ombre trend is evolving into softer, dimensional lines. Softer finer connecting streaks will replace harder chunky streaks. Vibrant rich color tones are in—mixing two and three tones within the hair to create softer transitions. Color will still go from darker at the root to lighter at the ends, but it will be smoother and less harsh than in the past,” Ferro says.
At-Home Styling
“Last year blow dry bars came in this year more women are going to be taking charge of blow drying their own hair. Ergo Brushes make it easy to create a polished blow dry on yourself. They dry hair fast, remove frizz and are easy to grip and move though the hair. “
