This past March, Academy Award–winning actress Helen Mirren told us she prefers her beauty routine to be simple yet effective. And in a more recent conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, the now 75 year-old is still the same laid-back beauty connoisseur we know and love, just with a few more lessons under her belt after a long, hard quarantine.

Admitting she found moments of confidence during stay-at-home orders, Mirren let readers in on her daily quarantine routine. “Every day, I got up, put on really good makeup, fixed my hair and got out of my pajamas and into real clothes,” she said. But getting glammed wasn’t the only ritual Mirren practiced to stay sane.

“My husband and I, because we’re both older, agreed we had to get as healthy as possible during lockdown,” she says. “We both adopted our own exercise programs; I did yoga and he did Pilates. It was a great opportunity to reset.”

Mirren walked us through the products that have been essential in her routine for the past 10 years earlier this year. While Elnett Satin Hairspray ($15) and Nivea topped the list, her 15-year-long partnership with L’Oréal allows her to continue to discover new products. The Winchester star says that while she’s always mixing up her moisturizers, the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer ($25) is her current favorite.

Just when we thought Mirren couldn’t get any more relatable, she shares her love for the drugstore. “[It] is a place of wonderment for me,” she says. “It’s a very inexpensive way to treat yourself. It’s my greatest indulgence.”
