Now that it’s officially summer, it’s the perfect time to start planning our seasonal manicures. One of our favorite Instagram accounts for nail inspiration is celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik. You might remember our coverage of Jennifer Lopez’s milky mani last month, or perhaps you’re already a fan of his work with stars like Selena Gomez and Camila Cabello. Another one of his longtime regulars is Hailee Steinfeld. The 27-year-old actress and Bachik have collaborated for years, consistently creating fabulous nail looks—the latest of which is perfect for the warm days ahead.
Enter Steinfeld’s muted teal manicure, which the nail artist has dubbed “robin’s egg blue.” Bachik shared an up-close photo of the actress’s long, rounded nails showcasing the perfect summer shade. Unfortunately, he didn’t share the exact brand or shade of polish he used, but there are plenty of similar options available to recreate a lookalike DIY mani.

Bachik has been pretty tight-lipped about the inspiration behind this manicure, but that hasn’t always been the case. In November 2022, both he and his client spoke with NewBeauty about how they come up with nail ideas together. When asked about their favorite look of all time, they mentioned her “candy wrapper nails” from the 2019 Met Gala.
“We talked about those nails for weeks and we went back and forth with a few different sets,” Steinfeld told us. “We started with the look, and then we took the time to figure out the glam. I’m obsessed with nails and I’ve become more obsessed with nails through working with Tom—I feel like nails are the perfect finishing touch to a look, always, every time.
Whether it’s the most simple look or it’s a huge statement, nails can absolutely take a look over-the-top. Then the last Met Gala that we did the really long, pointy nude nail. I’d never done the shape before, and I was a little nervous. Let me tell you, when I saw them laid out when Tom presented them to me….
I was like, “I’m not going to question it,” but I did have to ask, ‘How long can I keep these nails on?’ They were so long, they were so pointy, they were dangerous! But they were perfection.”
