Think you don’t have the time to pamper yourself during your lunch break? Well, think again, because it turns out there are many beauty treatments that *fit into your hour-long lunch break. Here are a few of them:
Sometimes, there’s nothing more relaxing than sitting back as a technician beautifies (and massages!) your digits. If you just get a basic manicure-no designs or acrylics-you should be in and out in less than an hour. But it’s probably best to skip the pedicure, as tempting as it may be. After all, they tend to take longer and you’re not going to want to walk around in slippers at the office. Another tip, pick out your color beforehand so you’re ready to go right in.
For eyebrows, a typical wax appointment is about 15 minutes or less. So you’d still have time to grab a quick lunch and make it back to your place of work on time. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, a bikini or Brazilian wax usually doesn’t last longer than 30 minutes. And if you’re worried about everyone knowing where you’ve been (i.e. redness), some people suggest taking two Advil a half hour before your appointment.
Whiter teeth during lunchtime? Count us in. With LED teeth whitening you can be in and out of the dentist’s chair in about 15 to 20 minutes. What’s more, LED whitening doesn’t have the same food restrictions post-treatment that a laser or bleach treatment does. So you’re free to have that glass of wine at happy hour!
We’re sure you don’t need much convincing for this one. Work sounds a lot more manageable when you’ve had a nice relaxing massage midway through the day. Many spas offer 30 minute massages. And some nail salons offer mini back massages to the length of your choice.
Facial or a Peel
Like the massage, many spas also offer express facials that will get your skin looking fabulous in no time. There are also peels out there that fit into your lunch hour, like the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance. It’s a quick, in-office treatment that reduces sun damage and firms the skin with minimal redness post-peel. The only downside to this one is you might not want to reapply makeup when you head back to the office.
We know, this one isn’t exactly a beauty treatment, but what better time to get in a quick run or workout class than during your lunch break? Most run-ch break enthusiasts return to their desks more invigorated and ready to take on whatever workload comes their way. If it’s the sweat and dirt you’re worried about, pack some wet wipes so you can freshen up post-workout.
*Mealtime not included.
