This Bath Soak Is Spa and Sleep in a Bottle

The end of Daylight Saving Time is this weekend, and while an extra hour of sleep is always a plus, the foreboding guarantee of a pitch-black evening commute in the coming months may have you wishing you could make a deal with the almighty keepers of time and leave things as-is (is there anything worse than looking out the window at work at 4 p.m. and realizing it’s already dark?)—especially because there’s also a promise of sleeping pattern disruptions popping up in the days that follow.

Enter Follain x Farmaesthetics Dream Bath Elixir ($36), a pretty glass bottle filled with a magical blue elixir that may just be the beauty product secret to surviving it all. It’s technically the brainchild of two brands—spa staple Farmaesthetics and nontoxic retailer Follain—who had the idea to merge two best-selling products (Farmaesthetics’ Dreaming Oil and its Vapor Bath Elixir) into one organic herb–flower oil–aromatherapy concoction powered by witch hazel, aloe, lavender, clary sage and blue yarrow.

I have not test-driven it during Daylight Savings days, but a few drops (the entire bottle lasts a very long time) definitely does a number in helping you to relax, calm down and prep for a restful sleep. It has a sort of menthol-y vapor effect when you drop it in the bath, but in an herbal steam, spa sort of way. Plus, even though it’s oil-based, it doesn’t leave your bath a slippery mess, yet does leave your skin feeling soft and super hydrated.
