Even celebrities end up with bad haircuts sometimes. Case in point: Emily Ratajkowski recently took to TikTok to show her 2.7 million followers the style in question—a clip that’s already been viewed nearly four million times and counting.
In the video, the 33-year-old model starts by admitting that, yes, she’s using a TikTok filter. “I have the worst haircut of my life and I need to feel pretty,” she says. She then reveals the bangs she’d been hiding at the beginning of the clip, adding that the cut went so far beyond what she expected that she now has “bangs on the back of my head.”
“Is it giving member of The Dare or is it giving [singer] Karen O? Or is it giving Italian? The very nice man who did this to me, I think he was, like, going [for a] British shag, but the main thing is it’s not me, you know.” She wraps the video by tucking the bangs near her ears and noting that, thankfully, she can hide them, unless the wind decides otherwise.
Ratajkowski hasn’t name-dropped the stylist behind the layered chop, but she did offer more context in the comments section. When one follower asked, “Need to know what inspo picture u showed to get this,” she replied, “Myself literally myself. He said, ‘lets bring back the bang you had last time we worked together.’”
Plenty more fans and fellow celebs alike were quick to jump into the comments. “No cuz I’m so mad for u rn,” Julia Fox wrote. Another viewer joked, “I THOUGHT RICH PEOPLE DON’T STRUGGLE WITH THIS,” while a third chimed in with, “Queen we aren’t supposed to get haircuts during Venus retrograde,” to which EmRata replied, “I believe in astrology now.”
Another summed up what many were thinking: “NGL, knowing even THE EmRata isn’t immune to getting the occasional bad haircut makes me feel normal.” Honestly? Same.
