Cynthia Erivo is no stranger to rocking a jaw-dropping acrylic set on the red carpet, so while we weren’t exactly surprised to see her latest look, it still had the whole NewBeauty team buzzing in Slack. Her most recent Golden Globes manicure, brought to life by Los Angeles-based celebrity manicurist Mycah Dior, is a prime example of why the Wicked star’s nail moments are consistently double-take-worthy. She debuted the intricate design on Sunday, January 5, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

As revealed in an Instagram post, Dior used a handful of OPI nail colors to bring her client’s manicure to life, specifically the shades Kyoto Pear, Rated Pea-G, Fiyero’s My Mani, Miami Beet, Reoccurin’ Gleam and Princesses Rule. The multicolored set featured intricate nail art reminiscent of precious stones that the nail artist aptly describes on social media as “crystallized perfection inspired by nature’s finest gemstones.”

The manicure, as revealed by Erivo herself on the red carpet, took an impressive five hours to complete. Still, she didn’t mind dedicating a significant chunk of her prep time to the process. “I work. I’ll do my emails. I’ll do my texts. I’ll watch some TV. It’s delightful,” she shared of how she multitasks while her nails are being done while being interviewed on the red carpet. Clearly, the time spent was well worth it—just take a look below to see how it complemented her equally statement-making Louis Vuitton gown.
