When Victoria’s Secret’s fruity-floral Bombshell fragrance debuted in 2010, a few of its most recognizable faces—Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel—were front and center in its campaigns. Today, Victoria’s Secret announced the newest face of Bombshell is not a former VS Angel, but rather Cuban-American popstar Camila Cabello, who has hit after hit on the radio (I personally have “Bam Bam” on repeat right now).
If you’re a fan of Cabello and her music, you know her effortless beauty, confidence and dynamic energy make her the perfect choice for Victoria’s Secret’s new campaign—it’s first-ever that is bilingual, featuring the singer-songwriter speaking English and Spanish. “For me, being a Bombshell is being exactly who you are and having the courage to celebrate who you are, every day. I’m excited to join Victoria’s Secret in embracing the Bombshell in every woman,” she says.
“On set, Camila exuded a presence throughout the day that didn’t need to be directed—her vibrance and confidence shined through organically. It was all about a celebration of her and her personality that brought this fragrance and campaign to life,” says Raúl Martinez, chief creative director at Victoria’s Secret.
If you’re new on the Bombshell bandwagon—it’s still the brand’s best-selling scent, 12 years later—its key notes are Tibetan Shangri-la peony, Brazilian purple passionfruit and creamy-sweet Madagascan vanilla orchid. And if you’re located in the New York City area, or visiting between May 3 and May 9, Victoria’s Secret is turning a portion of the High Line into a “Bombshell Gardens” pop-up to bring the fragrance to life (there will also be a chance to meet the nose who created the scent, perfumer Adriana Medina).
