Would You Eat a Pimple-Popping Cupcake?
By Elise Minton Tabin |
Los Angeles dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, has earned herself quite a following on social media. Known as Dr. Pimple Popper, her YouTube videos get up close and personal with some of the most gut-wrenching extractions you will ever see. This is so much more and so much worse than what your aesthetician has to deal with when performing a facial. Dr. Lee removes everything from 20-year-old bumps and massive whiteheads, blackheads and cysts to some pretty gnarly lipomas (fatty lumps under the skin) and pretty much anything else that can be dug out from under the skin. We’re warning you, not everyone can stomach watching her "pimple porn." Just a five-second clip had us nearly dry heaving and left with a visual that would not get out of our heads. It's like stopping and starring at an accident, but on steroids.

Now, she’s gone one step further and teamed up with Blessed By Baking to create edible cupcakes that resemble what happens when a pimple is popped. We know, it’s pretty gross. Replete with oozing fluid, inflamed skin and a yellow cream that resembles pus, when the top of the cupcake, which is intended to look like skin, is pushed down a superthick stream of the yellow cream frosting weeps out of the "pore." We just gagged, again.
While we don’t think we could down one of these out-of-the-box creations, we have to give it to her in the creativity department. Never did we think we would see the day when zit cakes were actually a thing.
