If You Want to Know More:
Growing up in an actual desert doesn't always prepare you for dry weather (think: real, east coast, soul-and-moisture-sucking winters). And yet I've miraculously managed to keep my skin in check with a salve I can only describe as mysterious.

For a product that's simply composed of six ingredients—olive oil, honey, royal jelly, propolis, beeswax and bee pollen—cult-fave Egyptian Magic (SHOP NOW) certainly holds an air of enigma. The alleged origin story of this cream is truly cinematic—highlights include: a spiritual stranger, a revelation of formulation, an inspired name change (try Mr. ImhotepAmonRa on for size) and an international fan base.

Probably the only aspect of this elixir that's not wrapped in obscurity is how well its worked in delivering much needed hydration to my entire body. I typically slather on before bed (the cream transforms into a more oily—but never greasy—texture, so I avoid applying right before getting dressed in the mornings) and awake to more radiant-looking skin. I'm no scientist (I only majored in biology in college), so I can't really explain how the formulation has no preservatives and yet reportedly lasts up to three years or why I'm able to use one product for everything from chapped lips to tangled tresses, but at the very least I can understand one thing: why this incredible lotion is so beloved.
