Years ago, seeing your favorite actors and actresses was limited to paparazzi shots and award shows. Today, the power of social media lets me hang out with my favorite A-listers while I’m sitting at my desk. Case in point: Mandy Moore’s Instagram as of late, where she’s been taking fans into her makeup trailer to reveal what going from your 30s to 60s—what the 33-year-old star does so seamlessly as Rebecca Pearson—actually looks like in every episode of This is Us.

Layers of prosthetics, age makeup and heaps of patience go into every look (it takes multiple hours to create Pearson’s mid-60s look each morning) and as you can imagine, it can do a number on her skin if not careful. But the application of the stage makeup isn’t the only process Moore has been sharing with her fans. She recently shared a short clip of her using the ZIIP ($495), a nanocurrent device that addresses a variety of different skin conditions, captioning the below shot, “Trying to kill the bacteria from all that stuff on my face all day.”

Powered by an iPhone app, the handheld device is powered by tiny, energetic currents that leave skin looking fresh, toned and lifted. Using it is easy: Select and download the “treatment” your skin is after onto your phone—you can choose from six—for an all-in-one facial from a chic, ergonomic tool.

There’s the 12-minute rejuvenating program (and one for sensitive skin types), a sculpting option that promises to define cheekbones in four minutes, a Vitaleyes option to decrease puffiness around the eyes, a treatment totally tailored to male skin, one to lessen hyperpigmentation, and an acne-clearing option, called Total Clearing, which we can assume Mandy was using to kill bacteria.

The ZIIP features lights that flash and tones that buzz throughout your treatment to let you know when it’s time to move to the next area of your face, making it next to foolproof to use—even if you just spent all day and night prepping and filming for a multi-award winning show.
