This Product Will Save You From Irritation Caused By Hair Dye

If you’ve ever read any of my blog posts about hair color, then you’re probably pretty familiar with my trials and tribulations with it—specifically the fact that I’m allergic to pretty much every type of permanent formula out there. Sadly enough, lately I’ve even been becoming sensitive to less-harsh dyes and recently experienced a patch of red, itchy skin after a toner was used during the highlighting process (granted I had cheated on my normal colorist, Alen M, so I’m not quite sure what brands were used this time around).

Needless to say, the highlights I had done recently weren’t exactly the look I was going for, and in an effort to get them professionally fixed (I was recommended to a colleague of Alen’s), I didn’t know what was about to transpire and how many different types and colors of toners were going to be used. Erring on the side of caution, I headed down to my appointment with a bottle of Antidot Pro in hand and figured if there was ever a time to test it out, it was now. The product works to prevent burning, itching, and irritation while your color is processing with results that continue even after you leave the salon.

When we got to the toning portion of the appointment, I quickly handed over the bottle and asked that one ounce be mixed into every bottle of toner that was going to be used—I didn’t want to end up with another itchy scalp, let alone something worse this time around. Low and behold, it worked! The mix of natural antihistamine ingredients—think potassium, coconut oil powder, avocado power and more—really did the trick to neutralize histamines and not cause my scalp to become inflamed, red or itchy. And the quality of my color wasn’t compromised either.

Knowing what I now know about Antidot and how reactive my skin and scalp is to color, there’s no way I would ever chance getting my hair done again without using this—a true lifesaver for me.
