Market research firm Circana confirmed earlier this summer that fragrance is the fastest growing category in luxury beauty. With 13 percent growth in the first quarter of 2024 alone, it's clear that we're seeing scent as an integral part of our beauty routine.
From fig fragrances to solar scents, trends in the perfume space have helped push even the reluctant to try new scents. And according to Mona Kattan, founder of Kayali Fragrance, from rich caramels to sweet vanillas, we're entering our dessert era.
“There are so many gorgeous fragrances that highlight caramel notes, and because there is a bit of an obsession with dessert-like fragrances, I expect to see a lot more of this note in the near future,” she says.
And it's clear from the luxury scents to the ultra-affordable body and hair mists on this list that she's on to something. Vanilla, caramel and sugary fragrances are dominating the best-selling fragrances at Sephora this month, after a summer full of fresh florals and citrus notes all over the main page.
