Bottega Organica

All-natural, 100-percent organic and rooted in science, Bottega Organica is all about botanical (and luxurious) formulations that work. All of the ingredients (the star of extra virgin olive oil is handpicked and cold-pressed the same day) are harvested and processed in either the farm in Italy or upstate New York without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, then mixed with potent anti-aging ingredients.

Tata Harper

Located in picturesque Vermont, the 1,200-acre Julius Kingdom Farm is THE point place for all things Tata Harper. It’s family-run and completely chemical-free, and besides the actual cultivating of ingredients (all of the herbs, fruit, alfalfa and oat are certified organic from the Vermont Organic Farmers Association), all research, development, packaging and shipping happens right here as well.

Laurel Organics

Gathering ingredients predominantly from local farms (she sticks to only locations within a 100-mile radius), founder Laurel prides herself on the fact that she handpicks everything, then formulates products right in her Sausalito, CA studio. The result is a truly organic and biodynamic line where even the water is replaced by hydrosols made from distilling rainwater through a fresh plant.

With a farm located in the Adelaide Hills in Australia, Jurlique stays close to its (literal) roots by growing all of its ingredients that the company has become so well-known for—think skin-calming calendula and hydrating rose—even extracting them right on-site so they can make sure they retain purity and potency.

Jane Iredale

Known for having a company garden where they grow organic fruits and vegetables (all employees are welcome to share the harvest—as long as they pitched in with the weeding!) right on campus, Jane Iredale draws major inspiration from both this garden and her own personal one—whether its an ingredient, makeup shade or lip gloss flavoring. “I love berries, so we grow blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries,” she says. “When it came to flavoring our lip glosses, there was only one choice, bring on the berries.”
