2024 has seen some surprising hair transformations, from Gwen Stefani’s jellyfish cut to Rita Ora’s mullet, but we think Austin Butler’s nearly bald buzzcut takes the cake for the most shocking hair cut of the year. For what feel’s like his whole career, Butler’s beachy, golden strands have been a signature part of his look. Even when he traded his blonde roots for deep black to channel Elvis Presley, his luscious, healthy strands were a key part of his identity.
But, at the red carpet for this year’s SFFILM Awards, Butler showed fans that a new era might be coming for the 33-year-old California native.
