One in three bosses think their female colleagues wear too much makeup to work, says a survey by UK-based office rental broker, officebroker.com. The biggest offenders: overdone lips, eyes and cheeks.
The lips were at the top of the list, with 32 percent of bosses saying bold colors were inappropriate for the office, reports Daily Mail. Eyes that were overdone got 28 percent of the votes, followed by 15 percent for those who wore excessive blush. However, the 500 male and female bosses who were questioned said they thought trying to look good was important, they just want their employees to keep the makeup light.
So while you may be dying to try the latest smoky eye shadow palette or that new Tom Ford lipstick, when you’re headed to the office, keep it neutral.
