This Whole Foods Protein Powder Just Got Recalled For Posing a ‘Life-Threatening’ Risk

According to the Miami Herald, Whole Foods Market’s 365 Everyday Value Whey Protein Powder Natural Vanilla Flavor was just recalled due to a pretty serious packaging mistake.

An entire lot of the soy-free protein powder—only the 13.9 oz containers were affected—was wrongly filled with the brand's Soy Protein Powder, a mistake Whole Foods notes came directly from the powder's manufacturer, Arizona Nutritional Supplements.

"Containers of 365 Everyday Value Whey Protein Powder Natural Vanilla Flavor were mistakenly packaged with Soy Protein Powder resulting in an undeclared Soy allergen," reads the FDA's recall notice. "Individuals with an allergy or sensitivity to soy may risk a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.”

While no illnesses have been reported to date, customers who have purchased the product anywhere in the United States from March 24 through May 6 can bring a valid receipt into the store in order to receive a full refund.
