When you have shorter hair, you can feel a little limited in your styling options. And with a sea of micro trends swirling around at any given time, how are you supposed to keep up with whether or not we're still wearing barrettes? If you're getting burnt out keeping up with the latest styles and are looking for something truly timeless, we have the solution. And the good news is, you actually have a lot of options.

Thankfully, length doesn't necessarily equal versatility. "Just because [you have] a bob doesn't mean you're boxed in!" explains celebrity hairstylist and KERASILK ambassador, Harry Josh. "The same tools and products used on longer styles can work wonders here too—the only difference is in the finish. With shorter lengths, you’ll see a sharper silhouette, a bit more edge, and an instantly modern feel."
Similarly, changing your texture to sleek or wavy can have a big impact on your short hair. "Some of my favorite styling options for short bob cuts include sleek straight with a flat iron for a polished look," explains celebrity hairstylist and SH-RD ambassador. "I also love tousled waves using a curling wand for texture and movement, and a deep side part for extra volume."
And if you're looking for a classic, timeless quality in your short hair style, Josh recommends taking a look at previous major trends. "If a style was regal and timeless at one point; it will be timeless and regal forever," He says. "A truly timeless style transcends trends."
"Classic shapes, quality cuts, and shiny hair will always result in a timeless look," notes Thomas.

Don't Be Afraid to Accessorize
Sometimes we can feel overpowered by accessories, especially when we don't have a lot of hair to work with. But even chunkier, bold barrettes can feel timeless and elegant while retaining a playful edge. "Accessories absolutely belong in short hair!" says Josh. "Barrettes, clips, headbands—they’re all fair game."
"I love incorporating accessories into short hair—they add a playful touch and show attention to detail," adds Thomas.
