Just when they said traditional brick-and-mortar retail was dead, our beloved Sephora drops BIG news: It’s opening 100 new stores across North America this year, which marks the retailer’s largest expansion ever!

Stores are planned to open in more than 75 cities, from Charlotte, North Carolina to San Jose, California and pretty much everywhere in between. Rougeot says the goal is to center them around local neighborhoods and community centers. A sleek, new design will stay true to Sephora’s DNA but make use of more cost-effective materials and 100-percent renewable energy to support the Sephora Stands sustainability program.
The stores will also be slightly smaller and support changing layouts more easily—hair-care and skin-care products will be featured more prominently at the front of the store and there will be a new Sephora Studio for skin and beauty services like makeup and lash application and mini facials.
