Pimple patches have been one of the most popular acne products since their debut into the beauty world, offering a quick and effective solution for pesky breakouts. “Pimple patches often contain hydrocolloid, which are designed to help draw fluid out and can help to reduce inflammation which may make them effective even for bug bites,” says Dr. Garshick. “Additionally, the occlusive nature may help to protect from scratching.” As always though, practice caution any time you’re trying something new on your skin. “That said, some pimple patches may also be formulated with other ingredients like salicylic acid, which can actually be irritating for the skin, so it is important to be cautious,” Dr. Garshick cautions.
