Pamela Anderson has been experimenting with her look for a while now. Over the last year, she’s inadvertently become the face of the makeup-free glam movement, and earlier this month she debuted a bold hair transformation at the Met Gala with her hair cut into a Parisian-style bob and micro bangs. Now she’s been spotted with an all-new look that appears to be a nod to old Hollywood.

The 57-year-old was spotted in New York City last week for the Naked Gun press tour, and her bob was styled in bouncy, bold curls. Anderson’s hairstylist, Marcus Francis, used hair rollers to give the curls their shape, and gave us all the details on how he achieved the look.

“Pamela had her hair washed from the night before. So I worked with the natural texture air dried and that helped the roller set feel softer and less done than if I were to round brush blow dry it,” he said. “I only used a root lift spray that I rough dried with my hands then wrapped medium sections of hair at 45 degree angles with the rollers throughout the hair, which allowed the hair to feel flirty and timeless no matter how the hair placed. It had the touchable texture and curl placement that lasted all day.”

Francis noted that the exact rollers he used to create Anderson’s curls have been discontinued, but the good news is that you can recreate the look at home with any set of volumizing hair rollers. He used hot rollers, but if you’re on a budget or want to avoid heat, velcro rollers also work. We like the Kitsch Ceramic Thermal Hair Rollers ($15), which can be used to add body and dimension to air dried hair for a just-left-the-salon look.
