This Makeup Trend Took Over Last Night’s Red Carpet

A classic red lip will never go out of style, but at last night's Oscars, the statement color made an appearance on more than just one star. Not only are we walking away from the show with some major lip inspiration, but a ton of must-have products in our carts.

To match her porcelain skin and contrast her blue-grey dress, Nicole Kidman rocked Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipstick ($38) in shade ELSON 3 on last night's carpet, and we all agreed she never looked better.

Lupita Nyong’o's makeup artist Nick Barose opted for Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge ($37) in shade Mademoiselle Lupita, which was named after the actress herself.

While her eyes, brows and skin were all natural, Julianne Hough let her bold red lips do the talking. Her makeup artist, Vincent Oquendo, used the long-wearing Violette_FR Petal Bouche Matte in shade Amour Fou.

Tracee Ellis Ross's dress wasn't the only red accessory of the night; Byredo Lipstick ($44) in shade Red & Blue also stole the show.

Makeup artist Joey Maalouf worked his magic on Molly Sims, who is shown wearing a dark red lip that we must add to our collection.

KVD Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($21) in shade Outlaw topped Rita Ora's lips at last night's Vanity Fair After Party.

Another red-on-red pairing, Rosie Perez rocked a gorgeous Christian Siriano dress with a layer of Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Drama Ink Liquid Lipstick ($28) in shade French Opera.

We loved watching Jessica Alba get ready for the Oscars, but what stood out the most was her fiery red lip, courtesy of Honest Beauty Liquid Lipstick ($15) in shade Love.
