Lori Harvey is the entrepreneur behind two brands: SKN By Lori Harvey and her swimwear line, Yevrah. But before diving into these ventures, she spent several years modeling. In StyleCaster’s Fall Fashion issue, in which she graces the cover, the 27-year-old shares how her modeling background shaped her vision for her brands and the creative process behind them.
“I absolutely felt pressure to be a certain size, especially when I first started,” she told the outlet regarding her modeling career. “When you’re backstage and they’re fitting you, everything is sample size. You’re expected to be very, very tall and very, very thin.”
This personal experience influenced her approach as a brand founder. “I’ll be honest, I definitely was self-conscious about it when I first started, because I’m not a traditional model,” she continued. When it came to developing my brands, I was like, ‘OK, inclusivity is number one on my list.’”
Harvey launched Yevrah Swim in 2023, offering sizes ranging from XS to XXL, just two years after the debut of her skin-care line, SKN By Lori Harvey. The latter is vegan, clean, and great for all skin types, even reactive, sensitive skin—an issue Harvey personally faces.
But these aren’t her only ambitions. As she shared with StyleCaster, she’s hoping to come out with a clothing and fragrance line and even wants to land a role in a comedy film. “I think I’m quite hilarious, so I would love to showcase that,” she said.
We certainly can’t wait to see what Harvey has in store.
