Known for his ever on-trend conceptual and creative hair visions, in-demand stylist Chris Appleton shares his self-care constants, SkinMedica lineup, and of course, hair care.
A quick browse of Appleton’s Instagram grid shows the 38-year-old takes fitness—“I’m always on the go and I’m a workout nut!”—and overall wellness seriously. Jujitsu and Dogpound gym are on regular rotation, as is hiking Los Angeles’ Runyon Canyon.
Self-care is also not a second thought for Appleton—even with a schedule that includes a lot of traveling. Making the must list: massage, meditation and reading.
For scent, his choice is singular: the fig-based, fan-favorite D.S. & Durga Debaser ($260).

Not surprising, Appleton says his day wouldn’t be complete without hair care. “Hair is really important to me—obviously, it’s what I do—and my go-to shampoo is Color Wow Color Security ($24).
